How to Determine the Head of the Submersible Pump?

The head of the submersible pump has a great influence on the selection of the submersible pump. Only after understanding the head and flow of the submersible pump correctly and in detail, can the model of the submersible pump be determined initially.
The head of the submersible pump is usually represented by the symbol H. So,how to determine the head of the submersible pump?
The head of the pump is the height at which the pump can lift water. That is, the highest point that the submersible pump can deliver water from the suction port of the submersible pump.It is called the suction lift
The vertical height from the center line of the pump impeller to the water surface of the outlet pool, that is, the height at which the pump can press the water up, is called the pressure head. The head of the submersible pump is equal to the suction head and the pressurized water head.
The head marked on the nameplate refers to the head that the pump can generate, and it does not include the loss head caused by the frictional resistance of the pipeline water flow. When choosing a submersible pump, be careful not to ignore it. Otherwise, there will be no water.
When choosing a submersible pump, manufacturers generally ask how much flow and head are required. If the flow and head cannot be determined, the correct selection cannot be made.
In addition, the flow rate can be no requirement, but the head cannot be without requirement. In order to select the appropriate submersible pump,you have to tell the manufacturer the actual working conditions, such as the vertical height, the horizontal distance, the number of elbows, the size of the pipeline,etc.
